Butter & Blossoms

Butter & Blossoms

Hey everyone,

It’s been another week filled with the kind of busy that leaves you tired but fulfilled as you head to bed. I thought I’d take a moment to share some of the highlights with you—our extended homestead family.

We spent a beautiful afternoon churning butter, a ritual that feels as comforting as it is rewarding. The golden butter was tucked away in our deep freeze for the winter, while the leftover buttermilk is destined for some cozy breakfast treats when the mornings get cooler. It’s these simple traditions that really anchor our days.

In preparation for a yard sale, we’ve started clearing out some of our spaces. It’s amazing what you find hidden away in drawers and closets! This process is more than just cleaning; it’s about refreshing our home and making space for new energy to flow.

Thanks to a wonderful friend, we’ve managed to begin stocking up on firewood for the winter. It’s always a big job, but having friends and neighbors that keep you in mind always makes it so much lighter. I’m forever grateful for this community’s spirit of helping hands.

Our garden is transforming with a new chamomile section that’s just been planted—thinking about all the soothing cups of tea it will bring us! We’re also plotting out a little fairy garden to bring a bit of magic and wonder for anyone who visits.

And speaking of new additions, let me introduce you to Karen, our newest hen in the fluffy butt hut. She’s settling in just fine and it’s like she’s always been a part of the flock. It’s heartwarming to see her find her space so quickly among our clucking ladies.

As the season starts to shift, I’m reminded of how much change each year brings and how lovely it is to share these changes with you all. Whether it’s a new chicken or a new plant, each addition to our homestead helps weave the rich tapestry of our daily life.

Thanks for stopping by our little corner of the world online. I can’t wait to share more stories with you as we continue this beautiful, messy, wonderful journey of homesteading.

Catch you in the next post!

Lots of love,
The Saddled & Sappy Family
